About This Quote

Many people believe that they have a lot of things going for them. They tell themselves that they are a smart, ambitious person who has a bright future ahead of them. But, the truth is, most of us have a lot going against us. We struggle with our finances, we struggle to maintain relationships, and we struggle to stay physically fit.

We think we have it all together and we believe that life as we know it is as good as it gets. Then, one day, someone comes along and shakes us out of our complacency. Someone comes along and completely turns everything on its head.

That’s what happened to me: someone came along and showed me my life was much darker than I had thought because I couldn’t see the contrast between the “good” life I thought I had and the “bad” life I was living because I couldn’t see the contrast between the “good life” on paper and the “good life” in reality.
